Scott Foster Turkey Tip-Off Runners Up
November 26-27, 2011 Ellicott City, MD

The Swarm recently played in the Scott Foster Turkey Tip-Off in Ellicott City, MD, just outside Baltimore.  There were nine teams in the Swarm age bracket and it was a double elimination tourney.  The Swarm went undefeated until getting their first loss in the semi-finals by 5.  Dropping to the consolation bracket they won the loser's bracket final by 33 and ended up back in the Championship Bracket matched against the team they lost to in the semis.  In an intense game that went down to the wire, the Swarm pulled out the rematch by 1 setting up a deciding "challenge" game (two 8 minute halves).  The game was back and forth the whole way with the Swarm coming up short by 2 when their last second shot missed.  So the Swarm finished runners-up in their first outing of the new season, and competing with a revamped lineup that includes four new players.  All in all a great initial showing for the 7th grade Swarm.
